HLTAID011 Provide First Aid – Face to Face/Blended
Provide First Aid provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
Course Requirements
Prerequisites: Age 14 or older and a reasonable level of fitness.
USI: All students undertaking nationally recognised training courses delivered by a registered training organisation must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Go to: www.usi.gov.au to create one.
Who undertakes this course?
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Course Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
Certificate is valid for three years from the completion date.
Delivery
Duration: Seven hours for face-to-face courses and three hours for ‘Blended Learning’
Assessment
Blended: Online test prior to the practical session
Face to face: Practical simulated scenarios and/or role playing
Knowledge Assessment by trainer during the course
Project (incident report etc)
Course Content
The course covers the signs and symptoms and treatment options for incidents including CPR, shock, bleeding, crush injuries, burns, fractures, sprains and strains, spinal injuries, breathing and heart conditions, diabetes, seizures and envenomation.
