DESCRIPTION:This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.\n \nCourse Requirements\nPrerequisites: Age 12 or older, a reasonable level of fitness.\nUSI: All students undertaking nationally recognised training courses delivered by a registered training organisation must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Go to: www.usi.gov.au ( http://www.usi.gov.au ) to create one.\nWho undertakes this course?\nThis unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.\n \nCourse Outcomes\nStudents who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.\nCertificate is valid for 12 months from completion date.\n \nDelivery\nDuration: Two hours for face-to-face courses and one hour for ‘Blended Learning’\n \nAssessment\nBlended: Online test prior to the practical session\nFace to face: Practical simulated scenarios and/or role playing\nKnowledge Assessment by trainer during the course\nProject (incident report etc)\n \nCourse Content\nRespond to an emergency\nPerform CPR procedures\nCommunicate details of the incident\nReview the incident\nSend Enquiry\n
